The Broken Family Band Room
Although it contains two single beds (you can choose which one you want!) we are now offering this for single occupancy on a room only basis.
The room is quiet and restful; it's very popular with people who like their sleep.
The new en-suite has a very spacious walk-in rain shower, as well as a basin, W.C. and heated towel rail.
Please call us on 017687 73181 for further information or to make a reservation.
The Broken Family Band are, sadly, no longer with us. They split up in 2009 after recording their 5th LP. They are, by some distance, the least famous of the three bands our rooms are named after, but we loved them and so too did John Peel.
They started off playing something akin to Country Music, but over time the twang slowly disappeared until they became a classic indie band. What never changed, however, was their crafty melodic hooks and the caustic wit of songwriter Steven Adams, who conjured up songs that were both terribly sad and shamefully funny. BBC Radio 4's Today commissioned him to write a Christmas song for the show and he came up with a baleful ditty called I Got You a Book for Christmas.
If we were to suggest a user-friendly entry point to their work, we’d plump for their penultimate album, the delightfully titled Hello Love, the cover of which you can see on the picture above.
