Hello! We're Carol from Aberdeen and Ged from Manchester.
We met back in the year 2000 whilst working for the BBC. Then in 2009 we decided the rat race wasn't for us (or perhaps it was the other way round) and we went to live on a houseboat in Amsterdam.
The following year we took off to the USA where after 10,000 miles on the road Ged wrote what is possibly the greatest book ever regarding songs about places in America. It's called Somebody Thinks This Is Somewhere and it's available from Amazon.
Next stop was Japan, where Carol taught English and Ged didn't. We then found ourselves back in Amsterdam. But in the end we missed Britain a little more than we expected so we decided to move to a town that we have loved for many years. We settled on the wonderful Honister House in October 2013 and, despite Ged's triskaidekaphobia, we're very glad we did.
